  • Trivia

Ok, here's some trivia for some recurring themes in my current and future stories:

    Yochigan:
The Yochigan, better known as the All-Seeing-Eye, is the gift of Sight, to allow the user to see Past, Present, and Future. Under normal circumstances, the Yochigan is borne by daughters, and the sons are the carriers. Despite not having the Yochigan, the sons often have flashes of Insight, which is a sort of sixth sense to let them know if something is coming, or a brief flash of a possible future to come. The Yochigan has three phases known as The Maid, The Mother, and The Crone, or in Romanji, Otome, Okaa-san, and Obaa-san. The Otome stage is when the Yochigan first manifests, and ends when the Yochigan begins to adjust itself to the user's capabilities, which is also the beginning of the Okaa-san stage. When the Yochigan begins to settle, the user is often bombarded by images of past, present and future, and would have to actively concentrate on whatever serves as their anchor to the here and now, or risk being lost amongst the images. This, for Yochigan users, is a fate worse than death, because the consciousness would not be active in the body. Once the Yochigan settles, then everything is fine, and the All-Seeing-Eye is completely under the user's control, and they may access certain abilities that we will go into later. Once the Yochigan enters the Obaa-san stage, it is the point when the Yochigan begins to break down and the images become uncontrollable. If the user is lucky, they have an anchor to support them, because the Obaa-san stage lasts for the rest of the user's life. Otherwise, the user tends to commit suicide to avoid the fate of being lost in time.

Yochigan Abilities: The Yochigan has many abilities, the most obvious of which is to pierce the mists of time. The second is the ability to weave illusions so complex that it would take another Yochigan to break, which is theoretically impossible since there is only ever one Yochigan in existence at any time. These illusions would allow them to live in a massice mansion under a floorboard or an elaborate city in the crook of a tree. The Third ability allows the user to speak to other Yochigan users throughout time, that they may gain the opinions and insights of their predecessors and successors. The fourth ability is the ability to control and mold time and fate according to the Yochigan user's will, but even this ability has its limits.

Yochigan Weaknesses: Yochigan users tend to go insane, and are normally at their most vulnerable when the eyes are active. Their illusions can be broken by a single touch by a person of faith, and causes massive amounts of psychological damage since in essence, the user's reality will have collapsed around them. Anchors are absolutely necessary for a Yochigan user, or they will drift off into the mists of time an be lost, and even then, the Anchor must have such influence on the lives of the user that they will want to return to them at all costs. The Yochigan also causes the eyes to deteriorate, although the eyes of one of the rare male Yochigan users tend to deteriorate at a higher rate than that of the daughters.

    Zeiguwa:
Zeiguwa was originally supposed to mean Jaguar in the Shadows, but the translator I found the name in was inaccurate, so basically at this time, the name Zeiguwa is simply gibberish.

Hunter Headquarters: Think a cathedral with massive underground catacombs. Everything is in shades of white, silver, or gray, and as you get deeper underground, you begin to approach the barracks, and the lights are along the floor and are dim, and everything is in black.
